Ph.D. Opening — POSMEC/UFSC 2026 (rolling admissions)
I am looking for motivated Ph.D. students to join my research group in computational mechanics and biomechanics at UFSC. This position is associated with the official POSMEC selection process (Edital nº 11/2025) and is open to candidates holding a degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or related fields.
Scholarship: R$ 3.100,00/month (CAPES/CNPq — full dedication required)
Research topics of interest:
- Multiscale and second-order computational homogenization
- Poromechanics and biomechanics of soft biological tissues
- Micropolar (Cosserat) continuum mechanics
- Orthopedic biomechanics and finite element analysis of implants
Rolling admissions: the program accepts applications year-round through multiple windows. The current open window closes July 10, 2026.
